Registered Psychologist

Andrea is a Clinical Registrar Psychologist and Counsellor with Masters level qualifications and over 10 years’ experience working with all aspects of day-to-day life and mental health concerns.  Andrea has a special interest in the gut-brain connection and the impact of nutrition, gut health, mood and unresolved trauma (including relational and developmental) on the mind and body.  She has the lived experience of living with a chronic health condition and a special interest in helping others to heal from and/or to prevent further deterioration in their own health conditions and to improve their felt capacity to cope with them.  She also has the lived experience of supporting family members with Autism and ADHD and has a keen interest in supporting other adults with the same.

Andrea’s interest in the gut-brain connection and the influence of gut health on chronic health conditions, mental health and ASD/ADHD has driven her to complete Functional Nutrition training and she will commence post-graduate microbiome training in the near future.

In addition to the abovementioned interest areas, Andrea also takes great pleasure in supporting people with alleviating and/or managing the impact of a variety of issues on their overall well-being.  These include, but are not limited to, anxiety, stress, depression, panic, OCD, low self-esteem, adjustment issues, unresolved grief, relationship and work-related difficulties.  She primarily relies on Neuropsychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and EMDR, however she also integrates other approaches, depending on client’s beliefs/desires.
